Vehicle Description: This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible has been restored and comes with a Super Turbo-Fire 283ci V8 engine, power brakes and steering, and a two-speed Powerglide transmission. The restoration work on this car took place between 2009 and 2013, with new interior, vinyl top, and seals installed in 2014. The vehicle has recently undergone servicing to keep it in top condition.

Originally painted Matador Red with a white vinyl top as shown by the trim tag, this Bel Air was one of the 16 color options available for the 1957 model year. It is believed to have retained its factory sheet metal from its early days in the Southwest. The chrome and side trim are original but were refurbished during the restoration process.

Additional features include dual antennas, a factory Continental Kit, and included fender skirts that have yet to be installed.

During the cosmetic refurbishment carried out by Mr. King between 2009 and 2013, all removable panels were finished separately while keeping the body on the chassis. The power convertible top was reupholstered along with fitting new seals to ensure a fresh look.

The red and silver vinyl interior underwent reupholstering in 2014. It boasts a power front seat, roll-up windows, and a push-button radio for convenience. Equipped with power steering and brakes plus an optional dash-mounted traffic light viewer for added functionality.

Underneath the hood remains factory correct; both the 283ci V8 engine and two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission were rebuilt during restoration. The engine includes the Power Pack upgrade of four-barrel carburetor, dual exhausts, higher compression heads for increased performance. An electric fan has been added to enhance cooling efficiency at the radiator’s frontside.
